This commitment is delivered by an experienced and highly competent workforce of over 4,500 employees operating from 14 offices in strategic industrial hubs, upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance and quality.

To support the strategy & services of the training and competency function within the Bilfinger/Torus project.
To ensure compliance with training and competence requirements, in accordance with company and client processes and procedures.

Main Responsibilities

OPERATIONAL

  • Proactively ensure compliance (corporate & legislative) in process, documentation, policy and behaviour.
  • Responsible for accurately maintaining personnel training and competency records to ensure full compliance with company procedures.
  • Arranging, recording and monitoring competency assessments and communicating outcomes with personnel and project management. Coordinating personnel attending competency resits and further training as recommended by Managers.
  • Issuing reminders to all personnel regarding upcoming competency and/or training renewals.
  • Support in coordinating inhouse training, where applicable.
  • Update incoming certification and competency within company training system.
  • Develop training and competence plans for review with the client and project management team.
  • Support with Trade Assessment process and employee personal development plans.
  • Document defined training and competence plans for external providers, including subcontractors.
  • Ensure mandatory training is monitored, maintained and completed in a timely manner.
  • Providing basic administrative tasks, for example, completing forms, updating Company system, electronic filing.
  • Identify competence gaps and develop gap analysis plans.
  • Perform regular audits and gap analysis on personnel training records.
  • Support the business and participate in the continuous review and development of competency related systems and processes to ensure they remain robust and fitforpurpose.
  • Ensure their monitoring/status reports on gaps are actioned.
  • Liaise with the Company's external training partner to ensure all training requirements are met.
  • Arrange and request training via the external training provider.
  • Review Training Matrices providing support with training & certification queries.
  • Provide management and internal stakeholders on a regular basis, training and competency related reports, as agreed.

TEAM

  • Contribute to the team, sharing best practice and building a "one team" culture.
  • Ensure participation in performance through the relevant processes and initiatives ensuring the appropriate knowledge and skills are in place.
  • Liaise and support the Training & Competence Project Manager in supporting management, operations and employees to ensure awareness and involvement in key competency issues/initiatives.

COMMUNICATION

  • Support smooth interaction between intercompany departments as appropriate.
  • Provide support to the client, as required

HSE

  • Through personal commitment help build a business culture centred around safety being good business.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience and understanding of technical Competency processes and quality checking incoming Competency information
  • Previous experience in a T&C or L&D role
  • Experience in a fast paced work environment
  • Understanding of various industry Awarding Bodies
  • Knowledge of the oil & gas industry(Desirable)
  • Internal Verifier(Desirable)
  • Able to work under own initiative & operate under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal & influencing skills
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Ability to plan project to delivery
  • Understanding of the training and competency function
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
