How will you make a difference?Assisting with tender coordination and validation across the product line and helping to reduce costs through design and standard catalogues.
What will your typical day look like?- Assist with international travel when required due to Wabtec being a global company with multiple manufacturing and engineering sites worldwide.
- Maintain the technical aspects of the product portfolio to meet OE tender needs and project execution requirements.
- Develop/withdraw product variants according to the strategy defined by the product manager.
- Create effective documentation for products.
- Execute validations as necessary.
- Manage non-conformity related to products post system engineering confirmation.
- Interface with Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Laboratory for parts procurement, assembly, testing, and prototype validation.
- Lead cost-reduction activities for specific products and propose a Margin Improvement Plan.
- Apply design for assembly and testability in collaboration with suppliers.
- Perform Supplier Quality Assurance, design reviews, and draft specifications for purchased articles.
- Provide product validation status and list ongoing/foreseen modifications with evaluation of cost risks.
- Contribute to the industrialisation process and ToT, support product issue resolutions.
- Support product manager programming activities, budget preparation, and risk assessment.
Applicants must be willing and enthusiastic to travel internationally as required due to Wabtec's global presence. Engineering experience in areas such as Maintenance, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Health & Safety, Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Production, Quality, Design is required. HND/Degree in engineering or equivalent preferred but not essential. Fully proficient in modern manufacturing methodology. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Meticulous, detail-oriented with efficient planning and time-management skills. Ability to correlate information effectively.
