We have an excellent opportunity for an
Events Administrator to join our team.

The role will involve:

  • Provide administrative support to the Events team
  • Ensure the team office runs smoothly including accurate filing and archiving, maintaining stationery and other supplies, distribution of post and event billing
  • Collate event packs and materials
  • Collate weekly event sheets and distribute to all relevant departments
  • Create PO requests and liaise with external suppliers
  • Provide a friendly and professional welcome to event bookers and assist them with any requirements throughout their event
  • Ensure any hotel guest queries are dealt with an efficient and friendly manner
  • Liaising with other hotel departments regarding event details and requirements
  • Assist with showcasing The Merchant Hotel at internal and external events including Wedding showcases
  • Be familiar with sales and promotional activity of the Hotel and upsell at every given opportunity
  • Meet and conduct show rounds of hotel with potential clients in accordance with The Merchant Hotel standards when required
  • Assist the Events operations team with setup and service of events when required
  • Flexibility in the undertaking of any other related duties

Essential Criteria

  • Have 1 year's work experience in a Sales/Events/Customer facing role
  • Excellent customer care
  • Excellent I.T skills
  • Ability to organise your workload effectively with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Cando attitude with ability to demonstrate initiative
  • Professional with excellent communication skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working within a 5* environment
  • Experience within the hospitality and tourism industry
  • Educated to degree level in Events or similar
The role of Events Administrator will require the flexibility to move into other roles within the Events Team to include the role of Christmas Coordinator
