Job Summary:

To undertake prescribed maintenance and monitoring tasks as directed by the Operations Manager.
This will include the supervision of subcontractors including Site Inductions and supervision of works. The post will be on a day work basis from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday spread across the Canary Wharf Energy Company and the Southbank Place Energy Company Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Salary up to £43,381 per annum.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To identify and diagnose faults and to carry out repairs, adjustments and other maintenance works as appropriate.
  • To carry out the required routine servicing, repair or adjustment of plant or machinery in accordance with Engineers capabilities.
  • Attend, diagnose and repair faults to heating and cooling systems including meters within commercial and domestic properties.
  • To adopt a flexible approach in respect of other skills or trades to ensure the most cost-effective completion of all tasks.
  • To undertake other skilled tasks in which competence has been demonstrated.
  • To monitor plant as tasked and to record data using the supplied platform.
  • To achieve the highest possible standard of plant and equipment efficiency by ensuring that each task is carried out in accordance with the set requirements and instructions.
  • To assist in ensuring that all working areas are kept clean and tidy, and all refuse and waste materials are removed and disposed of as appropriate.
  • To be thoroughly familiar and comply with the Company's "Health & Safety" policy and procedures and to immediately report any hazards or infringements to the Operations Manager.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Operations Manager.

Technical Requirements

  • Full time apprenticeship in an electrical or mechanical Building Services HVAC discipline complete with City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 or working towards.
  • Previous experience working on District Energy systems desirable, and able to demonstrate basic understanding of Heating and Cooling building services
  • Relevant experience would be considered if qualifications are not to requested specification.
  • Must be willing and able to undertake training to obtain equivalent qualifications.
  • Must be computer literate and be familiar with all relevant platforms including Building Management Systems, and other relevant computerised systems.
  • Ability to process and understand technical data and relay the information to others in a logical format.
