We are currently seeking a Senior Contracting Performance Manager to join our team at Tarmac. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting various aspects of our business. Collaborating with the Contracting Performance Director, as well as regional and national teams, you will contribute to achieving business objectives, including driving EBITDA margin growth and overseeing contracting optimization projects.

Role Responsibility

The Senior Contracting Performance Manager will focus on driving operational excellence and efficiency within our contracting businesses. This entails identifying, analyzing, and implementing improvements to align with our overall business strategy. Working closely with the Contracting Performance Director and various teams, you will lead initiatives to enhance performance and achieve optimization goals.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a strong understanding of construction methodologies, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Driving commercial and operational performance improvement
  • Overseeing the performance management framework for contracting
  • Facilitating root cause analysis and developing sustainable solutions
  • Leading a team of CI Analysts and providing guidance for professional growth
  • Reviewing KPIs regularly and creating action plans based on analysis
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Engaging with stakeholders to drive change initiatives
  • Developing national strategies in collaboration with the Contracting performance director

Key stakeholders you will collaborate with include Tarmac and Acquisitions Management Teams, National Highways, Finance, Sustainability, HSE, Technical, Operations, and Human Resources.

It is a requirement for this role that you hold a FULL UK manual car driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate for the Senior Contracting Performance Manager position will play a pivotal role in shaping our organizational culture. Previous experience in a similar role within the Infrastructure, Construction, Highways, or Surfacing industry is essential.

Qualifications/Requirements/Capabilities:

  • Background in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in performance and project management
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and expertise in lean principles
  • Experience in change management and innovation
