About The Job


As a Training Assistant, you will assist the Learning & Development team with the co-ordination and delivery of all mandatory training across St Piers.

You will also

  • Assist with coordination and planning of training in line with Training Managers plan for the year.
  • Create and schedule required mopup sessions when needed.
  • Support the Training Manager with delivery, preparation of materials / rooms, etc.
  • Ensure materials are up to date and available for use.
  • Deliver sessions in line with mandatory requirements.
  • Update Careshield to reflect completed training, starters and leavers.
  • Contact managers / staff when training is expired.
  • Keep up to date with changes in legislation which may affect training content.

About You


First and foremost, we ask that any potential employee must be passionate about making a genuine difference to the young people we support and putting them at the heart of everything we do, regardless of the job you are hired to do.

We would also like to see that you

  • Possess training administration experience.
  • Hold the equivalent of 5 GCSE's at grade C or higher.
  • Experience of working with working in Excel to create spreadsheets, producing reports, etc.
  • Are capable of meeting and prioritise deadlines.
  • Show good initiative, and strong communication skills.
  • Have high levels of attention to detail.
  • Have a proactive work ethic and is someone who shares our values (see Job Description).

St Piers School and College sits in the Education Directorate of Young Epilepsy, the leading national charity working exclusively to improve the lives of children and young people with epilepsy and/or associated conditions.


We are a non-maintained residential special school & college for 5-25-year-olds, and we are an innovative and creative establishment for students with SEND, and a large percentage of our cohort have Epilepsy, Autism, and severe learning difficulties, along with communication difficulties.
