***To lead the ongoing development of luxury spa brands across EMEA, identifying opportunities for luxury concepts and enhancing the overall luxury guest experience. Champion the role that spa plays as an important element in the overall luxury proposition, driving forward the luxury spa
business strategy, achieving set performance targets in revenue and profit as well as the balanced scorecard.

To work as part of the CLS team in defining and delivering the business goals, partnering with the AVP, MVP, ADOP and associated Area and discipline leads.

To support hotels in delivering their key performance measures and delivering innovative strategies.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the role:

  • Influence the overall proposition of what luxury means in a spa context.
  • Lead the process of new spa openings to ensure each new spa opens in readiness for business.
  • Work to create a distinct luxury proposition, identifying and amplifying the nuances of the spa experience.
  • Develop a luxury lens for spa that covers all aspects of the guest journey treatment offering, service detail, ambience and home care.
  • Understand, respect and be sensitive to the differences in various markets, cultures and expectations.
  • Develop and launch specific luxury tier initiatives that enhance current business, alongside creating profitable solutions for the future.
  • Pursue luxury retail opportunities, including the development of digital purchasing channels
  • Monitor and be aware of luxury trends and competitive situations that impact our spa positioning within the industry
  • Review, support and drive the financial performance of the EMEA luxury spa business. Including, but not limited to P&L, therapist utilization, room occupancy, retail sales, labour %, income per hour
  • Conduct 1:1 reviews and travel to Hotels as requested, completing the Spa Business Audit and providing detailed business notes for local action
  • Achieve set goals in accordance with, but not limited to, key measures such as Guest Voice, ESS, Vital Metrics compliance, Spa Plus Enhancement, online booking revenue.
  • Effectively use systems to organise data, reports and processes, providing regular performance updates to the EMEA team, AVPs, MVPs, ADOPs and others as required.
  • Analyse key business data and highlight key issues and opportunities, working with the Area Director of Operations to maximise business performance.
  • Contribute to the future strategic thinking for luxury spa services within the Marriott portfolio of Hotels.
  • Actively contribute to the EMEA CLS Business Planning process and achievement of continent and global goals.
  • Implement product development and new business initiatives to maintain competitive advantage within the luxury tier
  • To ensure that luxury spas operate in accordance with all Marriott set procedures, standards and Brand identity, whilst ensuring that they also comply to all industry, legal and H&S guidelines
  • Develop and / or modify central processes and procedures to meet the needs of the business, ensuring that Marriott remains an industry leader
  • Implement Spa Concept strategies, SOPs and develop LSOPs as required
  • Identify any areas of potential risk to the business and / or individuals and act accordingly to mitigate these
  • Support the opening of new Hotels, overseeing the Critical Path opening process as it relates to the luxury sector.
  • Review and advise on capital expenditure to ensure that luxury brand standards are met, and that luxury positioning is not compromised
  • Work with the EMEA Procurement team to introduce the most effective and innovative suppliers for our business and support these partnerships
  • To assist in the ongoing development of our Associates and to provide career enhancing opportunities, utilising and developing key training programs /manuals
  • Host quarterly discipline calls with the Hotel Spa Leaders
