Job Purpose Statement:
Lead on sports education lessons, and support students (including those with additional learning needs and/or disabilities) to ensure that they can access their study programme in order to be successful and progress.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:
The following is an indication of the type and level of the main priorities expected of this role as directed by your line manager and is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties or tasks:
- To be a lead tutor on the Sport courses delivered, including NCFE and 1st4Sport qualifications.
- To monitor the quality of teaching to provide advice and support to departmental members alongside the
- To identify, implement and monitor programmes to improve pupil outcomes
To liaise with other specialist staff regarding students' needs and targets: - To organise, where appropriate, a programme of educational visits.
- To develop the materials necessary for delivery of the prescribed curriculum.
- To monitor within each year, the progress of pupils, using available tools such as Target Grades.
- To maintain and update NCFE Sport schemes of work in the agreed format that provide continuity and progression within and between years.
- To ensure that extension and enrichment work is used to stretch the most able (AG&T).
- To produce, monitor and review NCFE Sport Data that forms part of the results analysis created by the
- To ensure that paperwork required for NCFE is submitted promptly and correctly
- To complete NCFE Sports students' academic records and assessments.
- To produce reports for Directors as required.
Health and Safety:
- To work according to Health and Safety regulations being aware for your own safety and the safety of others.
Departmental Communication:
- Attend meetings, briefings as appropriate and liaise with other staff.
General:
- To undertake any other duties that may be necessary from time to time as may be reasonably requested by the College.

Qualifications:
Relevant qualifications
Level 3 Teaching Qualification
5 GCSEs including passes in English and maths.
Experience
Experience of supporting young adults with a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities or a willingness to undertake training.
Experience of Microsoft Office Applications
Experience leading on delivery within Post-16 education
Skills:
The ability to work in a manner to support the changing needs of students ensuring differentiation is implemented within the classroom.
Additional skills/experience e.g., sign language, dyslexia support etc.Good verbal and written English
Good communication and liaison skills.
Strong commitment to team working.
Good digital skills.
Ability to embed English and maths in theoretical and practical sessions.
Other Requirements
Willing to undertake mandatory training and demonstrate awareness of Health & Safety requirements.
