Oxford University Press is a department of the University of Oxford, which furthers the University's objective of excellence in research, scholarship, and education by publishing worldwide. The Press's Education Division provides educational resources and solutions to teachers, parents, learners and institutions in the UK and in countries around the world.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our creative and vibrant Product Marketing team in the Education UK division. Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of the marketing strategy and campaigns for key market segment(s) across all audiences and channels so that we build market leading customer propositions, innovative and effective take to market strategies and campaigns - supporting the achievement of the UK's strategic business goals, market share and revenue targets. This role will also lead on key initiatives and projects, working with key stakeholders in sales and marketing and other key functions.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:
  • Develop and deliver the marketing strategy for the segment(s), determining plans, propositions, and channel strategies in collaboration with Sales to ensure key customer groups, including MATs, as well as major trade channels are integrated into the strategy.
  • Manage and develop the team and shared resources, developing and communicating a strong marketing vision, identifying development opportunities and innovation, performance managing, ensuring efficient and effective resourcing and capabilities to ensure delivery of the strategy.
  • Develop data-driven 'ABM' (account-based sales and marketing) strategies to track growth in key customer segments, to create programmes to retain and build customer lifetime value, and to identify 'best next' customers for more effective targeting and lead conversion.
  • Establish sales and marketing targets and campaign KPIs, consistently reviewing the effectiveness of strategies and tactical plans to maximise return on investment.
  • Track and develop customer insight, market and competitor knowledge to feed into product development and help determine and adapt sales and marketing strategy.
  • Help to drive new business development through identifying opportunities and partnerships, proposing innovative strategies and leading marketing projects.
  • Contribute to UK Education's digital product experience strategy to ensure retention targets are met and that there is a coherent customer experience strategy for key brands and/or subjects.
  • Manage agreed areas of the Education marketing budget, allocating resources of time, people and money to maximise efficiency and to ensure that commercial objectives are met.
  • Deputise for the Head of Marketing when required and represent UK Education in key meetings, internally and externally.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
  • Demonstrable experience of defining and delivering successful marketing strategies across the full customer lifecycle
  • Experience/understanding of marketing processes including multi-channel campaigns, lead generation, customer value proposition development, KPI setting, and sales enablement
  • Experience of people/team coaching, management and development (desirable)
  • Experience of setting KPIs and analysing results to inform future planning
  • Excellent organization skills, with an ability to independently manage a varied and busy workload
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, including copywriting
  • Willingness and flexibility to embrace change and think creatively to solve problems
  • Experience in managing a wide portfolio of projects and responsibilities, and ability to take initiative to drive projects forward
  • Strong relationship-building and team-working skills with experience of collaborating, negotiating and influencing key stakeholders in a matrix environment
  • Knowledge and experience of working in the education or learning and development sectors (desirable)
