Erdington, Birmingham, United Kingdom Adecyn Homes Full time

Adecyn Homes is a family orientated company who are looking to recruit for a Senior Care Practitioner for our therapeutic home.

We initially started off as foster carers in 2004 during over a decade of fostering, we have seen faults in the existing care system where the wellbeing of children and young people was not prioritised.

We are looking for seniors who can provide leadership, support and direction for their home and follow through with the Company's ethos.

If you have a passion for working with children who have not had the easiest start in life, then please join us in making that positive change.

Our aspirations for our children are high in all aspects of their lives, and we aim to provide a homely environment where children feel safe, loved, and nurtured.

We specialises in working with Children and Young People aged 8-18 years.

The children and young people have suffered early life trauma, neglect or abuse and as a result have emotional, behavioural difficulties.

The main duties of this role include:

  • Ensuring shifts are planned with Residential Care Practitioners, to take the lead on shift and be responsible for the events on the shift
  • To ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
  • To communicate effectively with the team of staff coming onto shift ensuring that a thorough account of your shifts events has taken place
  • To be the case holder for designated children, whilst supporting that allocated Key Worker
  • To provide written reports and documentation that truly reflects the progress of the adolescent for planning meetings / reviews
  • To set up, coordinate and review the children's files, Care plans, Risk Assessments, Behaviour Management Plans, Health Care Documentation, Missing from Home Documentation/Physical Description document Agreements and Incentives
  • To contribute to Educational Meetings
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety of all the children, staff and visitors on your shift, and to ensure that any hazards are reported immediately in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act
  • To undertake any training that is deemed appropriate to your position.
  • To attend staff meetings and be a positive role model to the children at their meetings
  • To contribute to individual and group direct work sessions to achieve optimal outcomes
  • To be able to address standards of behaviours from adolescents, in a calm nonconfrontational and constructive manner.
