Job Description:

  • This position at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, primarily located in Southend Hospital, is a new and exciting opportunity. It is initially a fixed-term Consultant role with plans to transition it into a permanent position.
  • The candidate will join the Specialist Gynaecological Oncology team alongside Mr. K Razvi and Miss F Toneva, contributing to the development of a specialized Gynaecological oncology surgical service for Broomfield Hospital.
  • Collaborating in clinical studies and publications, providing leadership within the Gynaecological Oncology Specialist team at Southend Hospital/Basildon Hospital, and supporting training programs are key aspects of this role.
  • The ideal candidate must have completed sub-specialty training in Gynaecological Oncology and possess excellent surgical and non-surgical gynaecological oncology skills.
  • The appointed individual will play a crucial role in the provision of gynaecological oncology services within the Mid & South Essex NHS Hospitals Group, supported by a dedicated team.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will be engaged in ensuring compliance with Peer Review within the local NSSG and promoting quality assurance across the network.
  • Requirements:
  • CCT in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
  • Sub-specialty training and RCOG accreditation or equivalent in Gynaecological Oncology.
  • MD or PhD
  • Proven experience equivalent to UK subspecialist CCT in Gynaecological Oncology, including a broad understanding of gynaecological oncology.
  • Strong communication and counseling skills, along with a background in Management training.
  • Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary team functions, network development, and resource management.
  • Passion for continuous medical education and a drive to deliver exceptional care, supervise training, and contribute to research.
