Care Navigator/Medical Receptionist
We are looking for a professional, conscientious and highly effective person to join our friendly team as a Medical Receptionist.
We are a rural GMS 9500 patient surgery with 4 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs and a fantastic clinical and practice team with an on-site Dispensary.
We are located in a modern, recently extended surgery with community nurses located on site as well as an X-ray suite and glorious surrounding countryside.
Duties will include;- Process and effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional depending on the presenting condition
- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers' requests appropriately
- Process patient requests for appointments
- Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
- Input data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Monitor and maintain the reception area and noticeboards
- Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
- Undertake all mandatory training and induction programmes
- Supporting your reception colleagues, providing cover during staff absences sickness and holidays
- Scan patientrelated documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' healthcare records
Required:
- You will have first class communication skills both in writing and orally plus competent IT skills
- You should be flexible and able to cover both morning shifts from 7.45am and afternoon shifts until 8pm
- You must possess an eye for detail and absolute accuracy, and observe strict confidentiality guidelines

Working Pattern:
Part Time Position -
21.25 hours per week plus Saturday mornings 1:7 on rota paid at time & a half
21.25 Hours - Monday 1.00pm - 8.00pm, Wednesday 8.30am - 1.00pm and Thursday 8.15am - 1.00pm and Friday 1.00pm - 6.00pm.
