Care Navigator/Medical Receptionist


We are looking for a professional, conscientious and highly effective person to join our friendly team as a Medical Receptionist.

We are a rural GMS 9500 patient surgery with 4 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs and a fantastic clinical and practice team with an on-site Dispensary.

We are located in a modern, recently extended surgery with community nurses located on site as well as an X-ray suite and glorious surrounding countryside.

Duties will include;

  • Process and effectively signpost patients to the appropriate healthcare professional depending on the presenting condition
  • Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers' requests appropriately
  • Process patient requests for appointments
  • Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
  • Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
  • Input data into the patients' healthcare records as necessary
  • Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
  • Monitor and maintain the reception area and noticeboards
  • Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
  • Undertake all mandatory training and induction programmes
  • Supporting your reception colleagues, providing cover during staff absences sickness and holidays
  • Scan patientrelated documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' healthcare records

Required:

  • You will have first class communication skills both in writing and orally plus competent IT skills
  • You should be flexible and able to cover both morning shifts from 7.45am and afternoon shifts until 8pm
  • You must possess an eye for detail and absolute accuracy, and observe strict confidentiality guidelines

Job Type:

Permanent Rate:
£10.40 per hour

Working Pattern:
Part Time Position -
21.25 hours per week plus Saturday mornings 1:7 on rota paid at time & a half

21.25 Hours - Monday 1.00pm - 8.00pm, Wednesday 8.30am - 1.00pm and Thursday 8.15am - 1.00pm and Friday 1.00pm - 6.00pm.
