About Camden
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do.

We're home to the most important conversations happening today and we're making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind.

We have a clear vision - to organise the right people and skills around challenges (like our missions) to deliver the best outcomes for Camden residents and renewal after the pandemic.

Camden has a proud, rebellious spirit that throughout its history has seen communities come together to tackle problems and bring about real social change.

We're willing to be bold and try new things in the process.

But don't just take our word for it - you can read about some of the different people working in the Council.

Adult Early Help
Camden is excited to be recruiting for our Adult Early Help offer for adults in the borough.

We are looking for 4 people to join a team of person centred professionals who will test and develop the offer.

This is an opportunity to collaboratively create a new approach to working with adults in Camden.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Driven by empowering others and making lives better
  • Passionate about building relationships with people as a means to better understand and help them to reach their goals
  • Excited by the prospect of working with autonomy and using out the box thinking to support adults to reach their goals and aspirations
  • Determined to build stronger connections with people, organisations and services

The team will work with adults who are at risk or face a combination of challenges, such as mental health issues, poor physical health, contact with the criminal justice system or housing issues.

The team will have the right emotional and psychological support to protect their wellbeing as they support adults facing these challenges.

The Adult Early Help team will help adults with their immediate needs, but crucially, their work will start with getting to know someone's whole self, not just the challenges they face.

They'll champion someone's strengths, skills, abilities and the things that matter to them.

Adult Early Help workers will build a relationship with a low number of adults at a time, working with them to identify what they want to get out of life, and setting goals and aspirations they can work towards.

The Adult Early Help workers will also help the adults contact and access specialist support from other teams in the Council, as well as what's already available in the voluntary and community sectors.

This is an opportunity to experiment, learn and shape how services for adults should innovate and change for the better.

As one of the 4 Adult Early Help pilot workers you will:
Be instrumental in how the Adult Early Help offer is shaped.

You will bring in your learnings to help consolidate a practical vision for the Adult Early Help offer beyond the pilot phase.

Co-produce how the offer works throughout the pilot phase, working closely with the project strategy team and pilot team, alongside other staff, partners, and residents.

You will be part of a range of engaging activities and workshops exploring how the offer can be adapted and improved to work better for staff, residents and organisations.

Navigate the support available in Camden to those you work with and invite in specialist support where necessary.

Either have some understanding of the available support in Camden, relationships with staff, teams, partners and voluntary sector organisations.

Alternatively, you'll have a clear idea of how you can build up your knowledge of the assets in the borough quickly.

Have support from strategy officers in the Corporate Strategy function every step of the way to ensure the pilot phase is a success.

The way you shape the offer in this pilot phase will influence the future offer of support for adults in Camden.

  • These roles are akin to caseworker positions with the additional involvement in the codesign and development of the service._
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

A note about our approach to recruitment
At Camden, we value and celebrate difference and encourage diversity in all respects.

Our diverse workforce ensures we represent our communities to the best of our ability and enables us to make better decisions.

Because of this, we want our recruitment process to be as inclusive and as accessible as possible and we recognise that requires us to be as flexible as we can whilst also preserving the integrity of a fair and transparent process.

Alternative flexible working options available and open to discussion.
