My client provides an inclusive education that meets the diverse needs of all students.

We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team, helping to make a difference in the lives of children with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities in Wandsworth.


Key Responsibilities:

Support children with special educational needs (SEN) in their learning, both in mainstream classrooms and in special settings, as required.

Work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to implement tailored education plans (IEPs) that meet the individual needs of each student.

Provide emotional and behavioural support to children, fostering a safe and positive learning environment.
Assist with the development of students' social skills by facilitating inclusive activities.
Employ specific strategies and tools under the guidance of educational psychologists or other specialists to support students' learning.
Participate in training and development sessions to enhance your understanding of SEN practices and policies

Qualifications and Requirements:
NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalent, is highly desirable but not essential.
Experience working with children with special educational needs.
A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and professionals.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
A current Enhanced DBS check, registered with the Update Service, or willingness to undergo one
