Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner

This Safeguarding Specialist Practitioner post is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Mental Health Trust's Corporate Safeguarding Team in providing safeguarding guidance, advice and support across our services.

This is a role where you can really make a difference for our patients, their families and our staff.

This year is a time of change across health and social care and this post is a great professional development opportunity to also be a part of the work in the developing of an Integrated Care Systems safeguarding approach and participating in our local Safeguarding Board subgroups and joint agency safeguarding workstreams.


The post holder will work as part of the Corporate Safeguarding Team to raise awareness and support the safeguarding strategies for both adults and children across the Trust.


The post holder will work under the guidance of the Safeguarding Lead to ensure that the Trust achieves full compliance against key local and national standards for the safeguarding of children and adults in working with Trust staff and strategic and external safeguarding partners to provide robust assurances.


The post holder will take the lead on appropriate areas of the safeguarding remit to progress the safeguarding agenda across the Trust.


The post holder will work in partnership with an allocated Care Group to have oversight and support their operational safeguarding procedures as required.


The post holder will function as an autonomous practitioner to provide leadership and governance across the operational landscape to promote the remit of safeguarding as delegated by the Safeguarding Lead.

The post holder will provide safeguarding supervision and case management as needed.


The post holder will, as required, provide specialist safeguarding training to staff in line with national and local guidelines and policy.
