Main purpose of the role:


Working alongside the HR Officer, this post exists to provide a comprehensive and high-quality administration link between the Central Trust Office and groups of individual academies to provide an efficient and effective service for the HR & Payroll function.


Accountable and responsible for the following key tasks:

HR:

  • Support with the administration for the recruitment of staff, including advertisements, preemployment checks, issuing of contracts and staff induction in relation to HR matters.
  • Timely administration of new staff appointments, current staff changes and leavers.
  • Drafting of routine correspondence and HR matters in line with Trust branding guidelines and ensuring that all communication on behalf of the Trust and individual school is consistent, accurate and professional.
  • Checking the DBS documentation.
  • Establishing Right to Work in UK.
  • Verification of teaching staff QTS and prohibition checks.
  • Processing contract amendments and changes, issuing confirmation paperwork to employees and for staff files.
  • Providing verified documentation for each academy to maintain their Single Central Record.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate staff records ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Exchange and provide information (some of which is sensitive) to school staff and external suppliers
(advertisers, employers) on recruitment, contracting and payroll matters.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding procedures.
  • To assist with the Job Evaluation process, as required.
  • Oversea and coordinate whole Trust statutory training and training portal administration.

PAYROLL:

  • Liaising with the responsible staff at all settings within the Trust to ensure accurate and timely provision of monthly payroll data.
  • General payroll administration on behalf of the Trust schools and Central Team.
  • Assisting all Trust staff with payroll related queries, referring more complex cases to the HR Officer.
  • Drafting of routine correspondence re payroll matters.
  • Responsible for the processing and submission of payroll related information and returns.
  • Assisting in the annual preparation of staff information for the School Workforce Census (SWFC).
  • To conduct regular checks to ensure the accuracy of the submissions from the schools.
  • To work as part of the central team to support HR and Payroll services within the whole and developing Trust.

General

  • Attend Trust events as required;
  • Attend relevant meetings and training sessions;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and legislation;
