Role Overview

As a crucial member of a multi-disciplinary team collaborating with consultants, the role requires experienced IP optometrists with a higher certificate/diploma in glaucoma to assess and manage glaucoma patients pre and post-operatively.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting relevant assessments and examinations for glaucoma patients
  • Providing patients with treatment advice and explaining potential risks and benefits
  • Interpreting diagnostic data to treat glaucoma-related conditions
  • Collaborating with consultants to refine treatment plans
  • Managing post-surgery glaucoma clinics and maintaining electronic medical records
  • Offering clinical advice and referrals to patients as needed

Requirements

  • Current GOC registration as a qualified optometrist
  • Independent prescribing qualification
  • Essential: Higher Certificate / Desirable: Higher Diploma in Glaucoma
  • Experience in glaucoma care within a hospital setting
  • Ability to make autonomous clinical decisions and provide SLT for glaucoma
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
