Job Description:
As a vital team member, you will work alongside consultants, focusing on assessing and managing glaucoma patients. Your duties will involve conducting examinations, providing treatment advice, and maintaining detailed medical records.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform relevant assessments and examinations for glaucoma
- Offer treatment advice to patients, explaining risks and benefits
- Analyze data to identify ocular conditions and provide appropriate treatment
- Collaborate with Consultants to devise treatment plans
- Document findings in medical records and offer clinical advice to patients
- Ensure proper referrals to medical practitioners as needed
Requirements:
- Valid GOC registration as a qualified optometrist
- Independent prescriber qualification
- Higher Certificate in Glaucoma (required) and/or Higher Diploma in Glaucoma (preferred)
- Previous experience in a hospital setting within a glaucoma pathway
- Ability to work autonomously and make clinical decisions
- Familiarity with electronic patient administration systems
