If your answer is yes then we'd love to hear from you An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Emergency Department Assistant to join our motivated and dedicated team here at the Royal United Hospital Emergency Department in Bath.


1.1 Respond promptly and courteously to all requests from the sister/ charge nurse, or from another member of staff in the Emergency Department.

1.2 Liaise regularly with the operational leaders to ensure the delivery of an efficient, high quality service

1.3 Escort patients and visitors to and from the Emergency Department.

1.4 Move patients by wheelchair, bed or trolley, including movement of the deceased.

1.5 Maintain privacy and dignity of the patient during escort/ transfer.


1.6 To communicate effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, patients, relatives and carers and member of the public.

1.7 To actively promote the Trust values.

1.8 Collect and deliver stores, drugs, medical records, medical gases, beds, equipment, department
- based furniture, bloods and specimens as well as other ad
- hoc requests

1.9. Carry a pager, operate telephones and respond to emergency alerts including helicopter arrival.

1.10 Assist qualified staff to move patients from/to trolley/bed/ wheelchair using appropriate safe techniques (e.g. log roll)
