We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Paediatric Staff Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust. As a Paediatric Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing holistic, family-centred and child-focussed care to our patients.
Main Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care within the framework of team nursing.
- Provide patient care responsibilities, including maintaining accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care.
- Develop own teaching skills and participate in staff/student education programmes.
- Complete professional portfolio demonstrating reflective practice.
- Promote nursing practice in line with relevant research and maintain and promote an awareness of evidence-based practice.
- Contribute to research and development programmes within the ward/department.
- Contribute to the setting and monitoring of measurable standards of care and be accountable for maintaining standards.
- Uphold quality initiatives that improve 'customer care' and enhance the interface between staff, patients and visitors.

Requirements- Registered Children's Nurse with 6 months post-qualification experience.
- Evidence of willingness to undertake courses/gain knowledge, skills and experience relevant to Emergency Care.
- Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice, particularly within specialty area and the application of this in practice.
- Understanding of NMC Code of Practice and requirements of it for own practice & behaviour.
- Demonstrates an empathetic and caring approach to patients and relatives and ensure that patients' dignity & respect is maintained at all times.
- Able to prioritise own workload and that of others as appropriate.
- Demonstrates awareness of importance of working as part of a team.
- Able to communicate effectively verbally and written to staff, patients and relatives ensuring that communication is tailored to the person being addressed (adult and child).
