Our Sheffield location offers an exciting opportunity to introduce a new role, involved in a 12-month service dedicated to providing support and activities for women dealing with mental health issues, physical health challenges, homelessness, and substance misuse.

The core objective of this position is to design and implement a fresh program offering various activities for women with complex needs, while also assisting them in areas such as housing, substance misuse, mental and physical health, domestic violence, and more.

This role may require occasional weekend shifts and non-traditional working hours. It's a fantastic chance for individuals knowledgeable about the challenges faced by homeless women to drive positive change. We strongly encourage applications from individuals with first-hand experience of Severe Multiple Disadvantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation of diverse activities for female service users within the community
  • Promote the service to users and external agencies
  • Support and supervise a volunteer assisting with activities
  • Collect feedback and data from activities to evaluate program impact
  • Coordinate a tailored support package for service users
  • Establish positive relationships with stakeholders to ensure individuals get the necessary support and guidance
  • Deliver proactive support for those at risk, empowering them to contribute to their support plans and achieve realistic outcomes
  • Engage face-to-face with users to address barriers and provide ongoing support on various issues
  • Collaborate effectively with housing, social care, and other relevant agencies
  • Organize digital meetings for user benefit
  • Thoroughly document work within specified timeframes

Essential and Desirable Experience

  • Background in creating activities for individuals with complex needs
  • Experience supporting women facing challenges such as substance misuse, mental health issues, and homelessness
  • Ability to build trusting relationships based on individual needs
  • Understanding of barriers encountered by individuals with complex needs
  • Experience working in a trauma-informed, person-centred way
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to overcome obstacles
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of managing budgets
  • Initiative, prioritization skills, and ability to meet targets
