We are seeking a talented Network Engineer to join our team for an initial 3-month project supporting a dynamic manufacturing company based in Peterborough.

As a Network Support Technician Level 3, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by providing essential support for end-user services, hardware, software, applications, and network infrastructure. This role demands intermediate to advanced technical skills and adaptability to thrive in a large-scale corporate setting. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Cisco technologies and hold a valuable CCNA certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Expertise: Troubleshoot and manage Cisco Layer 2 & Layer 3 Routing, Cisco Wireless Networks, Cisco PBX Administration, while holding a CCNA certification.
  • Infrastructure Support: Engage in IT Cabling, Infrastructure Planning, Design, and assist in the maintenance of site infrastructure elements like Power/UPS, HVAC, and cabling.
  • Data Centre Management: Supervise Server Room Operations, encompassing the installation and resolution of server room hardware components.
  • Server Support: Oversee DHCP, DNS, Print Server, File Shares, Microsoft SCCM management, and provide hardware support for Servers, data backup libraries, and SAN/NAS systems.
  • Critical Plant Floor Support: Offer immediate support for business and plant floor applications, ensuring a swift response time of 15 minutes during critical situations.
  • Customer Focus: Exhibit exceptional service delivery under pressure, especially during plant downtimes and outages.

Requirements:

  • Technical Excellence: Profound understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, Subnetting, VLAN, POE, packet capturing (Wire Shark), and network upkeep.
  • Hardware Expertise: Proficiency in the installation and resolution of server hardware, spanning rack Servers, fibre optics, Switches, disk drives, and memory units.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, documentation, and administrative abilities, along with a strong team player mindset.
  • Physical Capability: Capable of lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and frequently covering long distances throughout the day.
  • Flexibility: Openness to working flexible shifts, overtime, after hours, weekends, holidays, and responding to emergency callouts as required.

Candidates with certifications such as ITIL, CCNP, CCIE, CCNE, MCSE, and experience in CRAC/HVAC Units, PLCs, Plant Monitoring software, and SQL Server database administration will be highly regarded.
