Job Title: Field Engineer

Are you a skilled professional looking to work on a full fibre network? We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Engineer to join our team at Gigaclear, a leading provider of fibre-optic broadband to rural communities in England.

About the Role

As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Operations Manager and Senior Technician on a day-to-day basis, ensuring all works meet Gigaclear standards and compliance with NRSWA, SROH, and relevant build, break fix & fibre specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Break Fix of the Gigaclear FTTH/FTTP network, including traditional underground/buried network and PIA overhead and underground issues and fixes.
  • Service repair on PIA PON network communities.
  • Initial first response to Gigaclear's overhead poles to assess and feedback for contractor instruction.
  • Fibre splicing and testing.
  • Responsibility for their own and teams' assurance across quality and Health & Safety standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A background in Civils, Fibre and/or Telecoms, ideally fibre optic networks (FTTH/FTTP).
  • Previous experience of installations, fault fix, repair and/or maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and fault fix network issues.
  • Previous knowledge and experience of in the field Civils specifications desirable – e.g., NRSWA.
  • Able to understand, interpret and adhere to risk & method assessments.
