London, Greater London, United Kingdom Hachette Children's Group Full time
Hachette Children's Group is one of the UK's largest children's publishers.

Our mission is to make it easy for children and young people everywhere to access books and see themselves reflected.

We aim to maximise our readers' life chances by inspiring a lifelong love of reading, publishing books for every stage of their journey to adulthood from Enid Blyton to Alice Oseman's Heartstopper.

This role will be primarily responsible for leading the Wren & Rook non-fiction list, delivering strategies for commercial growth, overseeing the Wren & Rook editorial team and commissioning lead titles for the list.

You will have strong relationships within the industry and a track record of proactively seeking out and shaping new projects, both via literary agents and more widely.

You will be responsible for commissioning a selection of our lead titles and leading on our biggest pitches.

There will be some management support of junior team members and you will be expected to be a visible leader, communicating and embedding the imprint's strategy, while identifying opportunities for the editorial team to pursue.

Applicants should have excellent editorial skills and a keen understanding of the children's and non-fiction market. Proven success in acquiring and publishing commercial non-fiction is essential.
