We are collaborating with a Local Authority located in Oxfordshire, in search of a temporary Childcare Lawyer to become part of the team for an initial period of 3 months.

This opportunity allows for a mix of virtual and in-person hearings, and a compensation around £50 per hour UMB, which can be discussed based on PQE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offering a full legal service on child protection matters to the Children, Young People and Families Directorate as well as the Council
  • Managing a personal caseload of child care cases to a high professional standard
  • Representing the Council in Family Court hearings involving children
  • Instructing Counsel on behalf of the Council in Family Court proceedings and obtaining Counsel's advice on relevant children's issues
  • Providing advice, negotiating, and preparing legal documents to implement decisions of the Client Directorate and the Council
