Main purpose:

  • Shift operational responsibility for Moulding 1 or 2:
  • Organisation of all manpower to achieve the daily production & activity plan.
  • Liaise with Technicians to achieve the daily production & activity plan.
  • Raising Tool or Maintenance tickets and escalating concerns to the Line Manager as appropriate.
  • Drive and monitor internal zone flexibility and skill.
  • Manage and mentor shop floor training of new employees.
  • Isolation, stock control and inspection of quality related concerns including 'Quality Alert' share.
  • Maintain daily 5S standards within operational zones.
  • Update each hour the hourly status of each machine.
  • Using teamwork, build and forge relationships to create a strong team with the intent of furthering team flexibility, skills and overall performance.
  • Daily feedback to the Line Manager on time management of operators breaktime adherence.
  • Weekly feedback interview with each operator to understand current issues and suggestions to improve team performance.
  • EOS report:
  • Review all area assigned production performance sheets each hour.
  • Analyse the data to confirm it is accurate.
  • Ensure all machines always have a up to date production record sheet available.
  • Check then hand over completed production record sheets at end of shift to the Line Manager.
  • Health & Safety responsibilities:
  • Continual review of gangways and fire exits are clear for use and free of debris.
  • Continual review of major/obvious concerns within the Mould Shop general.
  • Once daily audit of operator workstations and area safety Inc. tooling & equipment.
  • Accidents, nearmiss to be escalated to Line Manager within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Process:
  • Four operators per shift, audit of process confirmation against job pack conformance.
  • Once per shift firstoff part quality standard audit, all tool changes on all machines.
  • Confirm Quality Inspector rotational checks have been completed to requirements, and if not escalate to the Line Manager.
  • Daily 5S audit of all areas and feedback to operators.
  • Area:
  • Weekly review of 5S audit, with results and corrective action plan.
  • Weekly review of Safety audit, with results and corrective action plan.
  • Weekly review of 5S Process audit, with results and corrective action plan.
  • Improvement activities:
  • Mentor staff and proactively assist development of all improvement activities on all zones.
  • Escalation:
  • Escalate any issues raised by operators from weekly feedback interview.
  • Escalate to the Line Manager if any machines/equipment has not ran for one hour.
  • Escalate to Line Manager if any tool/equipment breakdowns immediately.
  • Escalate to Line Manager if over 15% scrap for one hour.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Ideally 12 years previous work experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literate.
  • Proactive.
  • Approachable.
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Good Communicator.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility.
  • Able to solve problems.

Salary:
£14.56-£19.37 per hour

Expected hours: 38.45 per week
