Job Details:

  • Working 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday for a supported housing provider specialising in
- supporting victims of domestic abuse.

  • The hourly rate being £12.50 per hour and travelling expenses relating to visiting the houses
- with receipts and a work performance bonus to be confirmed by the Directors

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 years experience of working with vulnerable adults namely victims of domestic abuse.
  • Have empathy and compassion
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Being IT literate
  • Experience of administration skills, which include making claims on behalf of victims for benefits and housing benefits
  • Maintaining accurate records for each victim whilst in supported housing
  • Ability to manage priorities and time management is a must.
  • Experience in completing risk assessments to determine whether the victim made need to be referred to MARAC, completing Support plans and completing detailed support notes after each support session with each DV tenant
  • Familiar in completing incidents logs in the event if was needed
  • Have knowledge of domestic abuse and what that entails with any courses completed/qualifications
  • Having confidence, empathy and understanding in dealing with victims and offering advice, support and guidance where needed as the victims support worker

Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking fire checks on a weekly basis at the property
  • Having confidence to give written warning to tenants in the event they breach their tenancies
  • Managing monies to give to victims and keeping a signed record of this
  • Complete detailed contact logs when speaking with tenants outside of their support sessions
  • To provide practical support to victims to meet their individual needs
  • The ability to deal with a crisis whilst remaining calm and professional at all times
  • To be confident to liaise with the public sector at times in relation to the victim
  • Have knowledge of third who can support the victim based on their needs in relation to domestic
- abuse

  • Having the experience to develop the knowledge and the skills the victims need to better
- manage their lives, including accessing appropriate services, empowering victims to build
- successful relationships within their community, improving health including mental health and
- wellbeing and with these skills the victims independence will increase resulting in them living
- independently.
