Data Science Platform Intern

The Innovation, Data, and Analytics (IDA) function focuses on driving innovation by optimizing the use of digital, data, and AI to set strategic directions and stand out from competitors.

As AXA XL shapes an enterprise-wide data and digital strategy to enhance data utilization and reinforce digital and AI capabilities, we are in search of a Data Science Platform Intern.

In this position, you will collaborate with senior platform stewards and engineers to implement engineering best practices and the latest technologies in both new and existing data science applications and platforms.

Our evolving tech stack includes Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, PowerBI, Collibra, Databricks, MLflow, RStudio, Harness CI/CD, OpenShift, GitHub, JIRA.

Your responsibilities will involve:
  • Personal development ownership - interns are encouraged to show independent learning progress to secure a full-time role.
  • Collaborating with data scientists and engineers to design, develop, and maintain data analysis and modeling tools and workflows.
  • Assisting in identifying and resolving issues related to data quality, data governance, data pipelines, and data processing infrastructure.
  • Supporting users in troubleshooting, selecting the right tools, managing platform permissions, and providing user training and support.
  • Interns will receive training in cloud administration, platform engineering, data engineering, machine learning / mlops, and AI solution engineering.

We are seeking individuals who:

  • Are pursuing or have completed a degree in a technical or analytical field, or have relevant experience in computing.
  • Have a track record of high academic performance.
  • Possess problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred experience includes:

Experience in customer service roles (call center, retail, digital helpdesk).Academic or professional background in data analysis, databases, scripting, or programming.
