Position Overview

The Data Platform & BI Lead plays a vital role that includes but is not limited to the following areas:

  • Lead and cultivate an international data team by managing workloads, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and fostering a collaborative environment for professional development.
  • Drive global initiatives in Data Platform, Data Analytics, and Data Science within SCOR Digital Solutions, collaborating closely on global group projects.
  • Offer architectural guidance on current and future data flows, promote data harmonization and standardization, and enhance data governance practices to improve data availability, quality, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and data analytics workflows.
  • Manage international data projects, enhance analytics products, and lead product innovation focusing on underwriting and claims processing solutions within the (re)insurance sector.
  • Ensure operational stability of Power BI/Tableau analytics reports, data platform, and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with data and AI governance frameworks, contributing to the creation of innovative use cases that add value to SCOR Digital Solutions' business.

Core Competencies

  • Demonstrated leadership in the data/business analytics field, collaborating with experts from various countries.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, customer-centric environment.
  • Expertise in data management, data architecture, governance, and related tools.
  • Technical proficiency in data modeling, database technologies, and data tools like Power BI, Databricks, and Palantir.
  • Understanding of the (re)insurance industry, particularly in underwriting and claims processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with compliant and secure PHI/PII data practices.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Enthusiasm for the role.
  • Familiarity with current news and trends in technology, data governance, AI, health, finance, insurance, and consumer behavior.
  • Knowledge of BI and data management tools and their requirements.
  • Understanding of data science and engineering techniques.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years in business intelligence/data management/data architecture with leadership experience.
  • At least 1 year of industry experience in (re)insurance.
