Global Head of Credit Research

This position will directly report to the Global Head of Fixed Income and will lead the Sector Heads of Credit Research. The role is crucial within the Fixed Income Leadership Team and will play a key role in achieving strategic objectives for credit. The main responsibilities include establishing an effective operating model for the Credit Research team, embracing technology and innovation to optimize the analyst function.

This newly established position presents an exciting opportunity to lead the credit research team and steer its strategic direction, ensuring uniformity in language and approach across different sub-asset class areas. The selected candidate will define the credit investment outlook, contribute to the Aviva Investors House View, and participate in various investment forums.

The ideal candidate is expected to regularly gather feedback from portfolio managers and key stakeholders to enhance the performance of credit analysts, fostering strong collaboration between analysts, portfolio managers, and the ESG team.

A glimpse into the role:

  • Proactive and performance-oriented credit research team collaborating with fund managers to achieve client objectives by suggesting top picks for portfolios.
  • Focused on delivering alpha to active portfolios and meeting the requirements of other investment desks.
  • Responsible for issuing research, ratings, and recommendations in a suitable format for investment teams.
  • Incorporating ESG considerations into research and determining the importance of these ESG risks.
  • Engaging with companies actively and contributing to investment case studies to showcase ESG integration.
  • Accountable for the credit research team's contribution to investment performance across different credit strategies.
  • Oversight of the Global Research Policy framework and the integration of ESG into research and recommendations.

Skills and experience required:

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a large team effectively.
  • Previous experience in people management or the ability to exhibit leadership qualities for supporting staff development.
  • Understanding of the business and operational benefits of ESG integration and engagement.
  • Knowledge of technological advancements and leading approaches to credit research in the market.
  • Committed to challenging conventions to promote a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
