Your role will be pivotal in showcasing advanced expertise and occupational therapy skills, especially in the areas of engaging in occupations, adapting environments, and fostering and sustaining skills necessary for meaningful involvement.

You should also possess expertise in overseeing a specific caseload through theoretical and hands-on practices, conducting assessments, devising plans, implementing interventions, and assessing outcomes in line with care blueprints.

Your responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist will involve:

  • Effectively communicating with various professionals, including clinicians, managers, directors, associate directors, service users, caregivers/family members, stakeholders, and agencies.
  • Offering compassionate and efficient leadership to junior team members, including support staff and aides.
  • Ensuring the supervision of occupational therapy student placements.
  • Assisting in conducting appraisals/personal development plans with junior staff.
  • Being accountable for formulating and executing suitable policies, protocols, and care routes.

To be a Successful Occupational Therapist, you will require:

  • A qualification in the Occupational Therapy field.
  • Extensive and pertinent post-qualification clinical background working with children and young individuals with complex requirements.
  • Extensive experience in applying occupational references and methodologies.
  • Evidencing highly effective clinical reasoning abilities.
  • Specialized knowledge in appropriate assessment and treatment models.
  • Understanding of collaborating with neurodiverse individuals.
