Worcester, Worcestershire, United Kingdom Diocese of Worcester Multi Academy Trust Full time

Headteacher

Required for January 2025 (or earlier by agreement)

Pinvin CofE Academy

Salary: Leadership Group Pay Range L16-20

Full Time and Permanent

This is an exciting time for what is currently the Pinvin Federation of Schools; Pinvin CofE First School and St. Nicholas CofE Middle School, as we embark on the next stage of our journey together; amalgamating both to form one new school, Pinvin CofE Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to work with us to create a new primary school where all pupils and staff flourish.

The DoWMAT Board of Directors and the Local Academy Board are now looking to recruit an experienced Headteacher to take on this exciting opportunity and complete the transformation of the schools as we prepare for the future. This role will involve working with staff to improve provision for all children across a wide age range. The successful candidate will be highly organised, able to show initiative and have proven success at building and leading high-performing teams, and motivating pupils and staff. He or she will have an innovative and inspirational approach, along with a clear commitment to inclusive education in the community.

The Pershore pyramid is currently undergoing a period of change following a successful application by three of the area's first schools to become primaries. This has resulted in a drop in the demand for places in our middle school classes and will ultimately result in the school becoming a one form entry primary – with scope to increase to a 45 intake shortly afterwards. Our new Headteacher will, therefore, need to be confident in managing change, engaging stakeholders, and supporting staff to ensure the success of the school moving forward.

Pinvin CofE Academy is part of the Diocese of Worcester Multi-Academy Trust (DoWMAT). There is, therefore, potential within this post for the new Headteacher to become a system leader, working and sharing expertise across a range of DoWMAT academies. As such, the role should be of interest to candidates looking to extend their career and professional development into an exciting, new, collaborative direction.

As a Church of England Academy, school provision will continue to be deeply rooted in a strong Christian tradition with the aim of developing happy, young people with enquiring minds, a spirit of curiosity, respect for themselves, others and the environment; for all to have the skills, resilience and adaptability to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

We warmly invite all those who are interested in this post, to contact the Trust directly to arrange a visit.

We can offer:

  • opportunity for individualised CPD and other training
  • collaborative opportunities to work alongside other DoWMAT Headteachers
  • full support from the DoWMAT Central Team
  • a caring, committed, friendly and hard-working staff
  • happy, well-behaved, enthusiastic and motivated pupils who are proud of their school and enjoy learning
  • a supportive Local Academy Board

The Pinvin CofE Academy will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any offer of employment will be subject to the receipt of a satisfactory DBS Enhanced Disclosure, two positive references, medical clearance and evidence of appropriate qualifications. We may undertake social media checks as part of the recruitment process.
