Credit Control Duties Include:

  • Collecting debts following the guidance of the credit control supervisor and in line with the firm's policies
  • Sending statements to clients
  • Conducting phone calls to clients when necessary and occasionally handling card payments over the phone
  • Assisting with legal correspondence as directed by the credit control supervisor
  • Managing daily receipts records in the fee ledger as needed
  • Preparing productivity KPIs for the credit control team and reporting to the supervisor
  • Investigating and resolving billing queries
  • Attending appraisal meetings with the credit control supervisor periodically
  • Reviewing aged reports to address outstanding balances

Receipt Duties May Include:

  • Reviewing daily receipts and acting on any changes or remittance information
  • Processing daily cheque receipts
  • Reconciling receipts with bank statements and general ledger
  • Coordinating with clients and staff regarding payment concerns
  • Meeting deadlines consistently

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Several years of experience in credit control within a team setting
  • Thorough understanding of credit control responsibilities
  • Proficient in working with productivity KPIs
  • Strong customer service focus and ability to build effective relationships
  • Knowledge of credit control processes and legal actions
  • Ability to work well in a team and meet deadlines
  • Experience with computerized fee ledgers, preferably Star PDM and credit control module
  • Attention to detail and organized approach to work
  • Familiarity with MS Windows-based software
  • Capable of posting receipts and reconciling accounts

  • Credit control qualification
  • Experience in a professional firm
