Female Personal Assistant/Support Worker required to assist a young Autistic Woman living in the Rutherglen area.


You would be required to provide assistance within her home and in the community, including encouraging personal care and participation in social activities.

Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

Preparing and planning meals and healthy snacks (Knowledge of pescatarian/vegetarian/vegan nutrition preferred) Household shopping, any other daily living tasks to promote independent living, including ensuring home is kept in a clean, hygienic manner, gardening/garden maintenance, and any other reasonable duties.

Support to enjoy her passions as well as explore new opportunities. Her favourite activities and interests include horse-riding, music, art, spirituality, languages, and learning about different religions/cultures and plants/nature.

She can get overwhelmed easily so being able to help organise and encourage routine is a
must


The most important qualities are a warm, friendly, open, and non-judgemental nature and desire to work in a caring role.

Experience would be beneficial but not compulsory.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Driver essential and you will be required to use your own vehicle - mileage allowance will be paid.

Hours of work with a degree of flexibility:
Permanent position of 10 hours per week

Monday 10 am to 3 pm

Wednesday 10 am to 12.30 pm

Friday 10 am to 12.30 pm

additional hours will be required including occasional evening/weekends

Rate £10.90 per hour

  • Take Control (South Lanarkshire) is a Self-Directed Support service based in South Lanarkshire, providing information and assistance to enable all eligible people to explore the 4 options for independent living outlined in the Self-Directed Support Act, now in force. Take Control is part of Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living (GCIL), which is an established Disabled People's Organisation, with many years of experience assisting people to maximise their preferred support needs._
