Family Liaison Officer Vacancy Salary:
BR5 Scale Points £24,408 full time equivalent £14,144 Pro rata)

Hours: 25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (8.30am - 1.30pm - Monday - Friday)

This role is currently on a fixed term contract until the end of the academic year, however this will be reviewed.


Valley Primary School, a member school of Connect Schools Academy Trust, has a vacancy for a Family Liaison Officer who has some experience of working with primary school children and their families.

Valley Primary School is a medium sized primary school with approximately 450 pupils on roll. The pupils work hard, have a real thirst for learning and thrive within a caring, nurturing environment.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Establish trusting relationships with pupils and their families, Identify those children and families with additional needs e.g. learning and medical and support those children coming into school regularly and supporting families
  • Understand the challenges families face in the current financial climate and give guidance where necessary.
  • Complete a CAF referral for those families identified, keeping all informed during the process.
  • Undertake home visits as required.
  • Lead on establishing routines for children who refuse to attend school or display high level of anxiety.
  • Work closely with the attendance and welfare officer identifying those children causing concern.
  • Liaise closely with the DSLs and Management Team within the school.
  • Identify and arrange workshops for parents in specific areas identified
