A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced contract Windows Desktop Architect with high-level of experience of designing Windows 10 platforms to join an International Investment Bank in The City of London.

Initial 6-month contract with possibilities to extend. 2 days a week Homeworking possible.

  • The primary purpose of the role is to lead in Windows Desktop architecture projects and troubleshooting. You will work with a multitude of 3rd party products, including Ivanti Appsense Application Control, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Symantec Altiris softwaredeployment solution.
  • This is a lead role as the lead specialist architect in WinTel technology.
  • A full indepth working knowledge of Windows 10 O/S platform and VDI solutions with a strong, handson knowledge of security components, SEP and Appsense. This is a highly technical lead role.
  • Proven ability to build desktop architectures from scratch
  • Must have good working knowledge of scripting interrupted language routines
  • JavaScript, Python, VBA, to assist deployment of routines needed to manage the WinTel platform
  • Install, test, troubleshoot and configure new Windows solutions and facilitate their smooth and seamless deployment into production service
  • Must have proven history in the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of multiple WinTel security infrastructure products
  • Knowledge of Windows security constructs and able to design the implementation of WinTel security products. The role demands a high level of handson technical knowledge of WinTel security
  • Must be able to demonstrate multiple years' experience implementing and designing Windows desktop security products
  • Must be able to lead and work with enthusiasm alongside other engineers specialising in other areas of Windows engineering and architecture
  • Must be able to work to plans and timescales under pressure to complete on time and in quality.
  • Must be an expert in class, and have professional qualities, being flexible to meet the needs of project timescales.
  • Considerable time will be spent documenting, explaining and handing over to operations and demonstrating to management how the newly implemented systems are architected, configured and interpersonal skills are a requirement of the role.
