Here at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation trust we are recruiting for a Deputy Team Leader ENT/Plastics/ Oral Surgery in our team.

This role is 18.5 hours per week.


You will be a pivotal member of the Theatre management team where you will assist with key decision making and ensuring the service is running both efficiently and effectively for the safety of our patients.


You will assist the Team Leader in the management of the speciality and deputise for delegated tasks as deemed appropriate by the Team Leader.


  • Deputise for Team Leader in their absence
  • To ensure efficient running of the speciality in the absence of the Team Leader.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care, ensuring that all actions are carried out with full regard for safety of patients and staff involved.
  • Strong professional leadership qualities are required at this level. It is critical to the quality of care and staff morale
  • To organise and lead an operating session competently demonstrating excellent communication skills.
  • Paediatric experience would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work autonomously in satellite areas.
  • Undertake Floor person / Theatre Coordinator role as required.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records of patient care and supervises others in line with NMC/HCPC code of professional conduct and local and Trust policies.
