As an Interest RateRisk Manager, you’ll be driving the bank's product hedging processto ensure that the financial impact is captured at product level inthe books of relevant businesses. You’ll also be liaising with thebusinesses to agree an appropriate hedging strategy and preparinginterest rate risk reports and insights. This is a hands on rolethat involves working closely with customer facing franchises, theAsset and Liability Management Team LM and other Treasury teams tomanage interest rate risk hedging requirements. You’ll be the ALMlead interface with our retail and small business franchises oninterest rate riskmanagement.
Day-to-day,you’ll alsobe:
- Leading anddocumenting regular meetings with franchises to assess new businessflows and agree hedging requirements
- Designingand implementing the risk management framework, developing keyassumptions relating to how changes in interest rates affectcustomer interaction with our products
- You’lldeliver monthly risk reporting across the retail and small businessfixed rate product range and weekly insight into expected businessflows and the impact on pipeline hedgingstrategies.
We’relooking for someone who has a comprehensive understanding ofinterest rate risk, with a strong product knowledge of retail andcommercial products and derivatives. You’ll also have experiencewith SQL or Access, and proven experience of financial modelling inExcel.
We’ll also expect youto have:
- The ability to prioritise andadhere to deadlines along with handling change in a dynamicenvironment
- Strong communication skills and theability to liaise across all levels, including management levelcolleagues
- The ability to work under pressurewhile adopting a flexible approach to workcommitments
- Strong interpersonal andcollaboration skills with the ability to work with finance andbusiness partners bank wide
