We are seeking an experienced Compliance Specialist with a demonstrable track record of operating at Head of Compliance / Chief Compliance Officer level with expertise in payments and cryptocurrency for a part-time contract role.


This is an exciting opportunity to work with a growing, dynamic and fast-paced organisation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks while supporting innovative financial services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert compliance advice on payments, e-money, and cryptocurrency regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to FCA, AML, and financial crime regulations across digital assets and payment solutions.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, policy reviews, and regulatory reporting.
  • Support licensing applications, regulatory engagement, and internal training.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory developments impacting the payments and crypto sectors.


Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating at a senior level (Head of Compliance / Chief Compliance Officer) in compliance, risk, or regulatory affairs within the payments and/or crypto industry.
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, AML/CTF, and financial crime frameworks.
  • Experience working with PI/EMI licensing and crypto-related compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently, providing pragmatic and commercial compliance solutions.
  • Previous experience liaising with regulators and managing compliance frameworks.
