Due to business development and growth Trafford Leisure is looking for outstanding people to join our team, in the role of Assistant Manager. We promise a challenging but rewarding role within a Community Interest Company (CIC) that would be adding real value to the Trafford and wider Greater Manchester residents.

Trafford Leisure is a community interest company, we exist to benefit the Trafford community and we are committed to being a responsible and sustainable employer.   We are the largest operator of sport and leisure facilities in Trafford, operating nine indoor facilities, one golf course and driving range and 31 outdoor football pitches, attracting over 2 million visits per year and employing a workforce of over 300 people. This is a pivotal point in our evolution as Trafford Council invest millions of pounds into the 5 main indoor leisure facilities in Trafford over the next 5 years. The ambitious investment program will see the portfolio of centres transformed into fit for purpose, accessible, inspiring spaces under a new brand of  for future generations to come. Alongside this we need to ensure we have a developed a committed team across Trafford Leisure to allow us to continue delivering the best service to our customer to help create opportunities for them to move more and live longer, healthier, happier lives.

With this in mind, we are looking to recruit 3 x Assistant Managers for our Leisure Centres across Trafford Leisure.

 

The role

Our Assistant Managers play an integral role in leading and managing our centres both strategically and operationally with support from the General Manager.  It is a big challenge and isn’t for the faint hearted, you will be responsible for the day to day management and operation of the centre, working with the management teams to support and develop all areas of the centres programme activities.

We are looking for an experienced manager or team leader who is ready to progress to the next stage in their career.  Do you have high standards and a real passion for customer service delivery?

In this role you will be responsible for:-

  • Overall responsibility of the operational day to day running of the centre providing guidance and leadership to the Duty Managers and the team.
  • Working closely with the department managers to ensure these areas are managed effectively consistently to achieve optimum programme delivery.
  • Supporting the General Manager to manage the financial processes to ensure the centre is on target generating growth and stability to the business.
  • Provide support to the General Manager in managing the health and safety of the centre.
  • Creating a strong and highly motived team who are passionate about delivering high standards.
  • Supporting your General Manager to monitor and analyse key performance indicators to improve the service delivery of the centre.
  • Managing the development of people within your team, providing direction and support to unleash their true potential.
  • Coaching and training your team to ensure they are skilled and knowledgeable in all areas  of their responsibilities.
  • Supporting the General Manager in the creation of the Centres budget and financial management systems.

To be successful in this role you must have;

  • Recognised qualification in Leisure Management, Sports Development, or related subject.
  • Key holder and operational management experience preferably in a Fitness/Leisure environment.
  • Experience of planning, developing and delivering activities and programmes to maximise revenue streams and to provide excellent customer experience.

Working Hours:            40 hours per week       

Primary Location:          Your primary location will be one of our Leisure Centres – as you can see from our location map of all the facilities that we manage, although you could be expected to work from our various sites across Trafford although we are happy to work flexibly with you.
