This project involvesboth new build and refurbishment elements, aimed at creating amodern and vibrant facility.

YourRole: As a Senior Site Manager, you will play acrucial role in the safe and successful delivery of constructionactivities on site. This is your chance to lead a key project,ensuring it meets Kier's high standards for quality and safetywhile adhering to the construction programme.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Proactive Safety Management:Ensure all construction activities are carried out safely,fostering a culture of safety on site.
  • Quality Assurance: MaintainKier's quality standards by effectively supervising subcontractorsand Kier staff.
  • OperationalTargets: Drive the site team to meet operationaltargets and deliver the project on time.
  • Problem Solving: Addressemerging technical or logistical challenges efficiently, offeringpractical solutions and directing the team accordingly.
  • Communication: Keep theProject Manager informed of any site issues promptly and assist intheir resolution.

KeyTasks and Accountabilities:

  • Subcontractor Management:Under the direction of the Project Manager, oversee subcontractorpartners to deliver work packages such as groundworks, drainage,structural frame erection, roofing, cladding, interior fit-out, andfinishings safely and to high standards.
  • Quality Control: Checksubcontractor work against programme requirements, design drawings,and quality standards.
  • RiskManagement: Review subcontractor Risk Assessmentsand Method Statements to ensure safe and appropriate workingmethods.
  • Compliance: Conduct toolboxtalks and site inductions to ensure compliance with Kierstandards.
  • LogisticsCoordination: Manage site logistics, including themovement of plant and labor, ensuring safety at alltimes.
  • Reporting:Report any issues or programme slippages to the site/projectmanager and maintain accurate site reports andpaperwork.
  • Collaboration: Work with thewider project team (PM, Designer, Engineer, etc.) to find solutionsto any challenges.

Essential Skills andExperience:

  • Industry Experience:Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the constructionindustry, preferably within the Main Contractingenvironment.
  • CommunicationSkills: Excellent communication skills with theability to build relationships with on-sitesubcontractors.
  • TechnicalUnderstanding: Sound technical understanding of awide variety of construction packages.
  • Influencing Skills: Stronginfluencing skills to effectively manage and motivatesubcontractors.
  • CustodialProjects: Experience working on custodial projectsis desirable.

Qualifications/Accreditations:

  • Relevant Construction Qualification(HND/Degree/SVQ) or Technical Trade
  • SMSTS 5Day Certification
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid Certification
