Through your work and leadership and within the wider SEND & student support team you will ensure that our provision, processes and intervention for children who present with challenging behaviour and SEMH needs has a positive and sustained impact. This will include:
- Leadership of the inclusion support strand (with the SEND team) ensuring that intervention programs are tailored to school-wide and individual needs leading to increased student engagement and success in their learning.
- Oversight and further development of the school’s study room and internal exclusion provision. Ensure that these are highly effective in addressing (and reducing) incidents of disruptive/poor behaviour.
- Leading on school-based referrals to a range of external partners. This to better access support for potentially complex needs students (including making CAMHs, APC, LBAT referrals and supporting the writing of SEMH EHCNA assessments).
- Being the key point of contact for, and track, all students attending externally commissioned provision. Tracking attendance, engagement and achievement of students in these provisions.
- Being responsible for the safeguarding and welfare of all students.
You will be joining a very passionate and successful team of staff led by a highly experienced and effective team of leaders who are committed to delivering the very best outcomes for all of our students. You will be supported by a rich program of CPD, this to complement your existing knowledge and bring new ideas into our support provision for students.
The work of the Inclusion team includes ensuring that all students understand, and are supported to meet, the school expectations and routines. More than ever we recognise that a number of our students require specialist support and bespoke intervention to help them achieve their potential. The inclusion leader, team and wider house (pastoral) teams are crucial in supporting these young people to understand their choices, communicating effectively to ensure compliance in a supportive but firm manner. Our specialist team work to deliver a supportive, provision that enables students to reflect upon their actions, deliver appropriate, proportionate sanctions and to develop resilience and coping strategies which will enable them to become successful citizens both in the school and wider community.
As Inclusion Leader you will be an integral member of our student support team working on a daily basis with a number of senior staff, house and year teams to ensure we reach the best outcomes for each and every one of our children. You will work with a variety of external stakeholders and professionals alongside our in-school pastoral managers, specialist counsellors, safeguarding team, SENDCOs and experts on the Senior Leadership Team.
