As part of the Taking Teaching Further programme, we are looking for people with excellent communication skills, drive and enthusiasm who would like to pass their knowledge and experience on to our students to ensure they receive the best possible learning experience, to join us on a Permanent basis. The programme has been developed to attract experienced industry professionals, with expert industry knowledge and skills, to work in FE. Their understanding of the latest skills, techniques, approaches and equipment has the potential to improve student outcomes.
What to expect
- Joining Bury College as a Trainee Lecturer, in Brickwork you will be employed for 3 days a week teaching in the classroom, whilst studying on campus for 2 days per week towards a Level 5 Certificate in Education - Lifelong Learning or Level 6 Professional Graduate Certificate in Education.
- Candidates should hold a degree in a relevant industry subject and experience of working in a Construction related role. Some experience or knowledge of classroom delivery would be desirable but is not essential. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is an ability to meet deadlines and to inspire, motivate and engage students.
This is a permanent position. Upon completion of the above qualification and your first year of employment, you will progress to the main pay band and terms of a fully qualified Lecturer
