Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide information and guidance to students for job seeking.
  • Deliver support to develop the employability skills of students, such as developing CV's, provide supported job search and help them to prepare for interviews including delivering interview techniques and styles.
  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their career goals.
  • Identify and recommend suitable job and training opportunities.
  • Work closely with employers to develop work related opportunities for students.
  • Work closely with students to match them to work based learning and work experience opportunities and ensure that they are well-prepared to undertake them.
  • Support the work required for organising career development learning and related programmes, careers fairs, programmes of presentations, groupwork, and meetings.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to HND/degree level or equivalent and/or relevant vocational qualification such as an NVQ Level 3 in Advice and Guidance or similar. Equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy equivalent to GCSE English and Maths
  • Extensive experience of working with employers
  • Experience of developing employability activities and opportunities
  • Relevant experience in a similar role supporting students in being professionally ready to enter the workplace.
  • Experience of providing first-line advice and guidance.
