These homes provide a nurturing environment for young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs. The aim is to ensure the best possible outcomes for these young individuals. Current support workers derive immense satisfaction from even the smallest positive changes in their lives, celebrating these modest achievements wholeheartedly.

What does a typical day look like?

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be providing compassionate care and guidance to children with learning disabilities in a nurturing home environment. Your role involves offering daily support, assisting with personal care routines, and organising engaging activities tailored to their interests. Collaborating with colleagues and professionals, you'll contribute to individual care plans and maintain accurate documentation. Your compassionate approach, coupled with strong communication skills, will help foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for these children, guiding them towards growth and development in a safe, supportive setting.

The ideal candidate:

  • A 'can do' attitude - a team player who rolls up their sleeves to help others
  • We genuinely care about our young people (and each other) so honesty and empathy is a must
  • The resilience to be able to deal with challenging situations
  • If you don't have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), our client will pay for you to study and support you every step of the way
