Main Purpose of Role:

Working within the operations team supporting the development of people and processes across the business, this role will encompass delivering appropriate training programmes to employees to support managers in their delivery of business KPIS. 

As a Training Instructor you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operational team possess the necessary training and certification to adhere to health and safety and compliance.

Main Responsibilities:

Capable of delivering training on counterbalance trucks, combilift, telehandler, slings, rack inspections, manual handling, small tools training, abrasive wheels, working at height, harness fall and arrest, IPAF MEWP scissor lift and cherry picker, banksman, CSCS card training

Organise and maintain strict records of vehicle maintenance requirements, manage and arrange 12-week inspections of LGV vehicles,  servicing and maintenance records of company vans, LOLER inspections and service records for lifting

Participate and be active in the regular shop floor walkarounds with other managers on regular basis

Assist H&S Manager and other key colleagues in order to help facilitate and deliver training to ensure the company achieving the best H&S practice

Conduct and report on relevant inspections in order to drive up H&S standards

Work closely with Plant Managers to identify, design, develop and deliver training programs to employees to enhance their skills, knowledge, and overall performance. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all employees are well-equipped with the necessary competencies to perform their roles safely and efficiently within the production environment

Conduct engaging and effective training sessions using a variety of instructional techniques and formats, including presentations, hands-on demonstrations, simulations, and workshops

Ensure that training sessions are conducted in accordance with established schedules and that all employees receive timely and relevant training

Utilise a variety of training methodologies to accommodate different learning styles

Manage the logistics of training sessions, including scheduling, room setup, technology requirements, and participant communication, to ensure smooth execution

Assist with the onboarding process for new production employees, providing them with comprehensive training on site policies, procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols

Assist with developing training sessions to familiarise new employees with the production environment, layout, emergency procedures etc

Mentor and coach employees post-training, providing support and guidance to ensure the successful application of learned skills and knowledge in their daily operations

Assist in developing and delivery of safety training programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards

Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, evaluation surveys, and performance metrics

Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and employee performance

Generate reports to track training progress, compliance, and effectiveness for management review

Create and maintain up-to-date training materials, including manuals, instructional videos, and develop online learning modules, ensuring content accuracy and relevance

Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques, 5s and lean manufacturing and ability to develop training courses to deliver to production workforce

Responsible for following all company procedures and policies in line with our compliance management system and to report any concerns of noncompliance immediately

Responsibility for taking reasonable care of yourself and others who may be affected by your actions or omissions.  You must follow all instructions and training given to you and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures at all times

Any other duties as reasonably required

Skills and Attributes:

RTITB and ALLMI qualified Instructor 

Competent to deliver counterbalance and reach minimum

Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting

Proficiency in using training software, multimedia tools, and learning management systems

Demonstrated organisational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Flexibility to accommodate varying work schedules

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively
