Ground Keeper Assistant

We are looking for someone to assist our Ground Keeper in our Equestrian Farm in Buckinghamshire near High Wycombe from beginning of June to the end of October 2024. It might be the case we hire them full time if they succeed on the roles.

Responsibilities Ground Keeper Assistant

No accommodation provided although it could be discussed.

Hours: From 7 to 4pm with a break.

Days: Monday to Friday

  • Lawn mowing (ride on mower g26)
  • Box mowing
  • Strimming
  • Flail cutting with tractor all paddock and grounds areas (120+ acres)
  • Fence repairs and post work (including gates, small fence jobs)
  • Small hedge cutting
  • ⁠Foot path maintenance
  • Brash clearance
  • Maintenance and repair of water delivery systems
  • Installing water troughs
  • Pressure washing vehicles
  • Conversant with all power tools in work shop
  • Basic wood work
  • Maintenance of machinery
  • Wood work prep
  • General clearing of waste around the estate
  • Gutter maintenance
  • Tractor operation (harrowing, flailing, rolling/ muck tipping)
  • Trailer operation
  • RTV/buggy operation
  • Organising heating oil deliveries for the guest house
  • Organising fuel delivery for tractor and mowers
  • Organising and speaking with our local agricultural dealership regarding new and old equipment when needed
  • Running errands to fill up Jerry cans with petrol
  • Spraying the yard and appropriate areas to kill of weeds
  • Maintenance of all equipment related to grounds
  • Small tree felling where necessary
  • Dealing with public as I am always out and about on the grounds
  • Woodland management (vermin control and habitat management)
  • Organising our external agricultural contractor for any need.
