About The Role:
Prime responsibility will be to provide assertive intensive support to the more complex clients assisted by the Local Authority under Part 2 of the Housing (Wales) Act 2014. This support will involve dedicated, complex and in-depth casework to help to maintain existing accommodation or moving to stable accommodation.
To ensure that appropriate levels of engagement with critical partners are encouraged to aid success in moving to a new home i.e. Social Services, Mental Health Services etc.
About You:
Ability to work under pressure & being able to prioritise competing demands.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to use IT based management systems.
Good team player.
Be confident working with vulnerable people
Assertive & have confidence to enforce conditions of tenancy.
What You Will Do:
To lead on the support needs of clients to whom the Council owes a statutory homeless duty and support elements of the Personal Housing Plan.
To hold and manage a caseload of the more complex clients and work assertively with clients who are homeless or threatened with homeless.
Work in partnership with existing clients support network, family, friends, voluntary and statutory agencies.
Keep relevant IT systems up to date with assessments, investigations and decisions.
Work closely with clients through active engagement to secure suitable accommodation as appropriate.
Be able to challenge disruptive or unacceptable behaviour in a supportive and assertive way.
