The role
The Division of Research, Enterprise & Innovation (DREI) Strategy, Policy & Operations team is looking for a Project Officer with a 12 months’ FTC as maternity cover.
The team provides support to the Division in areas of administration, Finance, HR, training & development; develops longer-term strategies and projects to improve University’s research performance, and manages the Division’s communications and online presence internally and externally
This is an ideal opportunity for someone starting out in project management and who wants to develop skills around managing projects from call and application stage to closure and reporting, or for experienced professionals to join the HE sector.
What will you be doing?
You will
- Be responsible for the management of all financial, administrative and contractual issues relating to external funding streams, including but not limited to Research England funding
- Work with various teams in DREI e.g. Policy Bristol, Public Engagement, to help manage funding calls and communicate outcomes
- Support key stakeholders including PIs and Finance colleagues, providing guidance, monitoring project delivery & budgets through to reporting and evaluation
- Deliver events, conferences and meetings related to the funding streams
- Be involved in themes including Research Culture, Policy Development and Participatory Research
You should apply if
- Good understanding and knowledge of the principles and practice of project management along with sound financial training and experience sufficient to understand, monitor and control budgets
- Proven planning, organising and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills across a wide range of contacts
