DescriptionWe are hiring a Senior Technology Infrastructure Engineer to join Team JE

You'll play a vital role in crafting, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure that underpins our operations. Your creativity and problem-solving skills will help to shape the implementation of our forward-thinking customer focused products, whilst using your expertise to ensure stability and security of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple systems, including but not limited to servers, storage devices, virtualisation platforms, cloud services such as AWS and Azure, and cybersecurity systems.
  • Provide engineering and technical support for our cloud and physical technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Monitor and maintain the overall health and performance of the systems, proactively identifying and resolving any issues to minimise downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems related to hardware, software, and network infrastructure, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.
  • Work in tandem with our engineering team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with security standards and protocols.
  • Implement, maintain, and test effective backup and disaster recovery strategies, suggesting improvements where possible to ensure data integrity and minimise business disruptions.
  • Monitor system logs and alerts, promptly investigating and addressing any potential security threats or vulnerabilities.
  • Document and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other teams on key issues such as implementing system upgrades or resolving escalated issues.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with demonstrable ability to leverage a first principles approach to solving complex problems across technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to manage own priorities and work to defined deadlines.
Knowledge

  • Demonstrable experience of implementing and managing shared storage platforms supporting virtualised environments as well as Windows based and VMware virtual infrastructures
  • Excellent knowledge of storage (NetApp desirable)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows (physical and virtual), including associated infrastructure services (AD, DHCP, DNS, NPS etc).
  • Excellent knowledge of VMware (SRM experience desirable).
  • Good knowledge of data centre and campus switching/routing technologies and physical cabling management (Cisco Catalyst / Nexus /Meraki desirable)
  • Working knowledge of cloud services (Azure desirable)
  • Understanding of cybersecurity systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection (Cisco Firepower desirable)
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience or relevant certifications will also be considered (e.g. MS Azure Network / Security Engineer Associate, Cisco CCNP, NetApp NCDA )
